For the past six years, the Silver Lake Film Festival has blessed the city of Los Angeles with one of the coolest independent film and art festivals around.

SLFF blurbs:

Silver Lake Film Festival was created to specifically address the lack of opportunity for independent narrative features and documentaries, as well as short films, to be seen by audiences in movie theaters. These are films that reflect a personal vision of the filmmaker, rather than a commercial imperative. I just spent the last hour trolling through Myspace trying to find subject matter for future posts — sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t, but tonight was one of those lucky nights.

The Myspace “Myplanet” profile page promotes greener living and has a lot of great links to other green-centric profiles.

The Burrito Project in under two years has grown from a couple of people on bikes passing out some burritos to feed the hungry to several hundred volunteers in multiple chapters all over the United States.

The Los Angeles chapter was awarded the very first Myspace Impact Award last Tuesday, and I can’t think of a better group of people that deserve it.

Pete Fowler is one of my favorite illustrators, he’s probably best know for his work with the band Super Furry Animals and the Monsterism website and designer toys.

Taking the Monsterism concept to another level and literally another medium, “The Sounds of Monsterism Island Vol 1″ is a mix-tape compilation full of yummy exotica, electronica and 60s soft-rock.

The “Sounds Of Monsterism Island” is a compilation album that works as a soundtrack to the world of Monsterism, created by the Welsh born, London based artist Pete Fowler.
