2007 THE YEAR OF THE GOORIN HAT!

goorin1.jpgHipsters, misfits and fashionistas all over the world have Goorin Brothers to thank for capping off their style with what some people may say to be the most soulful and perhaps the most important accessory in your closet - the hat

Grooin Brothers blurbs:

Goorin Brothers, known for their hip collection of funky hats for men and women. Cassel Goorin first sold Goorin hats out of the back of a horse cart in 1895. The company has since evolved into a contemporary line sold worldwide, attracting names like Jay-Z, Tom Cruise, Ashanti, Ashlee Simpson, and the Black Eyed Peas, among others. Goorin hats and bags made appearances in Mission: Impossible III, and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, will also be featured in the upcoming movie Bar Starz.

It’s truly amazing that a company that was started over a 100 years ago is still setting the trends for contemporary hats for men and women alike.

KUSTOM KULTURE LIFESTYLE

Trophy QueenTrophy Queen was founded in 2000 by artist and designer Jenny Parker. Jenny’s passion for hot rods and vintage motorcycles, along with her training in auto upholstery inspired her to create a line of accessories that would carry out the hot rod / kustom kulture theme.

Trophy Queen’s blurbs:

I’m a handbag designer and Hot Rod Show Promoter looking for no bull shit, cool people, who make me laugh and inspire me in one way or another. Dudes looking for chics with big boobs and tattoos need not apply!

Today Jenny continues to live the kustom kulture lifestyle, riding her 1948 Indian Chief Motorcycle, and crusing with her husband John in their chopped 51 Ford business coupe. She vends at dozens of hot rod, rockabilly, and tattoo events, and sells to many countries through out the world, while still keeping that old school craftsmanship.

WE DON’T SELL DRUGS!

The Pharmacy Industry is an upstart label founded in 2002 in Milan; big in the Italian streetwear scene, Pharmacy Industry’s collection consists mostly of t-shirts and sweatshirts that are heavy on print design.

They recently got a lot of buzz for their “10 Shoots on Ten Styles” ad campaign. The campaign was based on a selection of young emerging photographers shooting 10 pieces in 10 pictures from the Pharmacy Industry Collection.

FukiJamas anyone?

fukijamas

For sneaker freakers that are into HBO’s hit show, Entourage, the recent episode “What About Bob?” must have piqued your interest. In it, Turtle and Vince try to get some limited- edition Nike Air Force ones and Vinny winds up dropping $20,000 to get his boy some custom-made jumps from the mysterious Fukijama. In actuality, these Fukijamas are the result of a collaboration between Mark Smith and kicks store, Undefeated, made especially for the show. This wearable high-class art is definitely the holy grail of sneakerheads and is so hot, we had to put it in the Hive even though they can’t be purchased.

Where In The Hive: bookmark/31058

Who: 4 people have hived Entourage’s Fukijamas, Mochipopstar (that’s me) was the first to add it to the Hive
